Kim's Garden: Part 2

video

As Max says....Welcome to our garden! You'll hear him throughout...my little 3 year old loves to talk!

video

Our Dogwood tree in full bloom, with creeping phlox around the base. And yes, Max is now growing impatient asking to play frisbee. He's my little shadow.

video

More of our front flower beds. My husband designed all of our flower beds, and then I plant.

video

As you can see, phlox is my favorite flower, but our hostas and catmint are starting to fill out.

video

Here, Max is telling everyone we now have a Robin nesting on one of our downspouts.

video

Our backyard is now making a lot of progress, I love the colors of this time of year. I seem to like purple and pink the best.

video

The creeping myrtle and Hydrangea tree are looking nice.

video

My favorite tree! Our Lilac tree smells wonderful and the scent comes into the house, too. A few years it had mildew and we cut it back. But now a couple years later, it's doing just great.

In the forefront you can see my roses....the buds will be there soon I should have dozens of roses. Can't wait! Our picket fence is lined with climbing roses, my grandmother always loved roses on her farm in Illinois, so I have to carry on the tradition. For Mother's Day, my Mother-in-Law gave me a gift certificate for flowers at my favorite spot in Wayne County, Quailcrest Farm...so I have some new carnations(another favorite), sweet woodruff and ornamental grass to plant. I'll be doing a lot of digging in the coming weeks and painting our picket fence...but it's the best time of the year. Come back to Kim's Garden soon.

Hi Kim I do not know if you got this already I entered a comment and then had to register a blog account and my blog was gone so sorry if this is a repeat! I love your garden especially the Lilac tree. Your little boy is a cuteie! I too have been involved in landscaping what I call my "sunken garden". There is a large staircase that leads to this garden which has a small Koi fish pond with a waterfall feature. The sound of the falling water is relaxing. There is a variety of plants that surround the area which has a garden bench and small bistro table set. Then there are stone steps that lead to a walkway that leads to my barn and vegetable garden. This walk way is surrounded by a harb garden on both sides and also lined with clumps of black eyed susan plants and out lined with small boxwood bushes. I too, have adopted three children which bring sunshine and joy into my life! I really enjoy your morning show and listen each morning as I prepare my family for the day ahead. Tell Jeff I can't spell worth a darn either but as long as we get the point across what difference does it make? Ha-ha. I also enjoy the positive spin that Bruce puts on his weather forecast and enjoy the Trivia questions. Really love your show Thanks!
