Weekend Trivia Revamped

Each Saturday and Sunday morning on Channel 3 News Today, Producer Caitlin comes up with a trivia question related to the show to ask Kim, Bruce and the viewers at home. Well, we've decided to shake things up a bit.

Beginning tomorrow (Oct. 17th) at 9am, we will be asking members of the Channel 3 staff for trivia questions about themselves. For example, we may ask you, "How many siblings does Kim Wheeler have?" or "What college did Bruce Kalinowski attend?" We think this will be a fun way to keep our interactive weekend trivia going while allowing the viewers to learn a little bit about the folks at Channel 3. We hope you enjoy it.

See you at 9am on Saturday and Sunday!

Bookworm Buzz: Saturday, July 18th

Please send us your Bookworm Buzz suggestions at weekendmorningshow@wkyc.com and we'll feature them each Saturday morning.

For today's Bookworm Buzz, we have a photo sent to us from Heritage Middle School in East Cleveland.

The teachers and students there are recommending the author Virginia Hamilton, who is originally from Ohio. They are reading the book..."The Planet of Junior Brown". It's for students in grades 3 to 7.

The book is about two African American children in New York... one is a musical prodigy, the other is homeless. It's a story of survival and how we all depend on each other.

Blog Birthday...do we celebrate those?

The weekend morning show blog has reached a milestone. One year ago today, we launched the Channel 3 News Today weekend morning show blog on wkyc.com.

Over the course of the year, we've gone from a few funny articles written by the staff to a full on multi-media and social networking hub. (I just thought that sounded cool)

Now on the blog you can watch our shows live on the web each Saturday and Sunday morning, and we offer you the unique opportunity to chat directly to our anchor Kim Wheeler, our meteorologist Bruce Kalinowski and other folks behind the scenes who are working on the show like our TD/Director Matt, our Producer Caitlin, our Floor Director Jess and our assignment editor "Julie at the desk" during our live broadcast.

Another feature we've come up with on the blog to make it more interactive with you, the viewer, is by making it easy to keep up with your favorite WKYC personalities. You can keep tabs on us through Facebook, Twitter, and email.

You can check out Kim's "Bookworm Buzz" each Saturday morning to find out what children's books are Kim's favorites along with the favorites of other local celebrities and sports personalities from the Browns, Indians, and Cavs. You can also see all of our local artwork with the "Kids Color Our World" slideshow that we post every Sunday morning.

We've done a lot in our first year, and we have even bigger and better ideas yet to come. If you have ideas for what you'd like to see us do in year number two, please email them to weekendmorningshow@wkyc.com

Thanks for watching and blogging with us!
