Following the unfortunate fatal shooting of an officer over night, we decided to send Jeff out to cover a press conference to find out more details. Kim held down the fort in Studio A. With Dawn directing the last hour of the show, director Matt was able to post video to the web and stream the press conference live with the help of Julie at the desk. Producer Caitlin did a nice job of pulling together the changes for the show at the last minute. Great job to the weekend morning show team for pulling together to get the coverage on the air and web so our viewers were able to find out the latest information.Labels: Caitlin Kollar, Dawn Ermler-Fischer, Jeff Maynor, Jess Starr, Julie Ocepek, Kim Wheeler, Matt Babb, Weekend Morning Show, Weekend Webchat, WKYC

Good Morning from the WKYC Digital Broadcast Center. It's currently 7:40 a.m. and I'm waiting to tape our blog exclusive show promo with Jeff. We try to tape it right after we do the 7:25 live cut-in during the today show and before the 7:55 live cut-in so that I can post it to the blog by 8 a.m. Currently we're trying to figure out a fun place to shoot the promo. I like to not only tell you what's coming up on the show with this promo, but also show you different parts of the building and different people in the building who are working hard to get ready for today's show. Check back soon for a show promo with Jeff from somewhere in the building.Labels: Director's Message, Matt Babb, Weekend Morning Show

Wow, it is soggy out today. I feel bad for all of those folks out in front of our building braving the conditions to run (or walk) in today's marathon. That's dedication.Labels: Director's Message, Matt Babb, Weekend Morning Show
Good Saturday Morning, Cleveland! We have a big show coming up at 9am today. We will be live at Cedar Point to show off the brand new "Planet Snoopy" and we're live at the Barnes and Noble in Woodmere, where a Channel 3 news story has sparked a drive to help.Labels: Matt Babb, Weekend Morning Show

I'd like to welcome all of you to the WKYC Weekend Morning Show Blog! My name is Matt Babb and I'm the director of Channel 3 News Today on Saturday and Sunday Mornings. I also direct the noon news on the weekends and then a wide variety of shows during the week. In fact, I direct nearly every show we produce at Channel 3 at some point or another. Some of the shows I've directed include Channel 3 News at 6, 7, 11, Midday & Channel 3 News Today. I direct "Golden Opportunities" regularly and "Good Company" on occasion. I'm the director of "Browns Pre-Game Huddle" and occasionally "The Point After" and "Browns Tonight" during football season. I also get my opportunities to direct "Indians On-Deck" and "Tribe Report" for SportsTime Ohio. I've also been the director of WKYC's "Susan G. Komen For The Cure" coverage the past two years, and look forward to directing it again this year.Labels: Matt Babb, Weekend Morning Show
