Following the unfortunate fatal shooting of an officer over night, we decided to send Jeff out to cover a press conference to find out more details. Kim held down the fort in Studio A. With Dawn directing the last hour of the show, director Matt was able to post video to the web and stream the press conference live with the help of Julie at the desk. Producer Caitlin did a nice job of pulling together the changes for the show at the last minute. Great job to the weekend morning show team for pulling together to get the coverage on the air and web so our viewers were able to find out the latest information.Labels: Caitlin Kollar, Dawn Ermler-Fischer, Jeff Maynor, Jess Starr, Julie Ocepek, Kim Wheeler, Matt Babb, Weekend Morning Show, Weekend Webchat, WKYC
Our debut live web chat was a success. I hope you had a chance to log on and chat it up with Kim, Jeff, Bruce and the rest of our crew this past weekend.Labels: Bruce Kalinowski, Jeff Maynor, Kim Wheeler, Weekend Morning Show, Weekend Webchat, WKYC
Today we did our first live webchat on the weekend morning show. I didn't get to post much because it was a busy show in the studio... but what a great thing to have. I love seeing viewer responses come up on the screen as things are happening on the show. Labels: Jess Starr, Starr Sightings, Weekend Morning Show, Weekend Webchat, WKYC

Due to NBC's coverage of the French Open this weekend, Channel 3 News Today and Channel 3 News at noon will not air on Saturday or Sunday. The blog will roll on without the shows, so stop by and check in to find out what Jeff, Kim and Bruce will be doing with the time off. The shows will return on June 14th and 15th. Enjoy the French Open here on WKYC.Labels: French Open, Weekend Morning Show, WKYC
Kim Wheeler interviews A.J. Colby to find out how he's been since leaving the weekend morning show. For those of you who don't know, A.J. is now on at 6pm and 11pm on weekends after spending several years with Kim and Jeff. Does he miss Jeff & Kim and the weekend morning shift? Does he watch the show when he's off? And what does he really think about blogs? Kim will get to the bottom of these and other topics with A.J. tomorrow on the "Weekend Morning Show" blog here on WKYC.com.Labels: AJ Colby, Kim Wheeler, Weekend Morning Show, WKYC

My day started a little earlier than normal for a Sunday. My shift starts at 6:45 on weekends, but today is the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon so I got here at 6:15 to make sure I got into the parking lot. The runners go right past WKYC. Best of luck to them. It's great that there is such a wonderful turnout even though it is raining and a bit chilly. Labels: Between the Lines, Starr Sightings, WKYC
