The Cleveland Police Department has issued a travel advisory on Thursday evening.
In a statement provided by Public Information Officer, Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia, the department writes the following:
Due to numerous issues including downed trees, power wires and power outages, residents of and visitors to the city of Cleveland are advised to not travel unless absolutely necessary. Crews are out to clear streets and restore power at this time.
More than 30,000 customers in Cuyahoga County are without power as of 11:00 p.m. Thursday. Cleveland Public Power has reported numerous cases of downed power lines throughout the city.
The Winter Storm Warning for Ashtabula, Lake, Geauga and Cuyahoga counties will be in effect until noon Friday.
