Austin Love joined 3News in April of 2018. He is now a contributor on 3News' broadcast and digital platforms after reporting and anchoring for nearly 6 years at wkyc studios.

As a newcomer to Northeast Ohio, he has quickly found some of the best of what the area has to offer, including great food, recreation, breweries and of course, friendly people.

A native of Rockford, Illinois, he got his first taste of television in Mr. Phads broadcast journalism classes at Boylan Catholic High School. He then went on to the University of Iowa where he graduated with a degree in Communication Studies and Entrepreneurship. It was there he found his passion for storytelling and local news. While at Iowa he worked for the Daily Iowan, ESPNU, Big Ten Network and WFLA in Tampa, Florida.

Before coming to Cleveland, Austin worked at his hometown station WREX in Rockford, Illinois. As a morning Anchor/Reporter he won two Emmy Awards and an Associated Press Award.

Austin has covered a wide variety of stories throughout his career, from the destruction of Hurricane Harvey in Houston to a World Series. With every story he tells, his goal is to tell it through the lens of the people who are experiencing it and giving a voice to the unsung heroes in the community.

While he is new to Cleveland, Austin has quickly found a home both at work and in the community. In his free time Austin enjoys cooking, playing guitar and giving back. He is also the latest team member of the Real Men Wear Pink initiative that raises money and awareness for breast cancer through the American Cancer Society.

There is a lot that Austin is still looking to learn about Northeast Ohio though! If you have a story suggestion, restaurant recommendation, or just want to drop a note feel free to send him a note.
