CLEVELAND — Emma Henderson is an award-winning journalist proud to be reporting in her home state of Ohio. Born and raised in the Columbus area, she went to the University of Missouri where she got her start at KOMU 8 News graduating in 2016 with a Bachelor's of Journalism in Broadcast with a focus in Investigative Reporting.
She then headed north after college to work at WSAW NewsChannel 7 in Wausau, Wisconsin, battling below-zero temperatures and spring blizzards to covering the latest in America's Dairyland. She wore many hats training there as a producer and anchor while also reporting full time.
After Wisconsin, she was able to come back to Ohio where she worked for three years at Channel 3's sister station, WTOL, in Toledo. There she focused on covering local politics, the LGBTQ community and neighborhood issues with a special focus on gun violence and youth programming.
Emma spends her time outside of work volunteering and working with local LGBTQ organizations, including hosting Toledo Pride's main event and plans to get involved similarly in Cleveland. She loves exploring all the different neighborhoods, parks and trails here with her rescue pup, Sadie. On weekends you can find her rooting for the Browns and the Buckeyes or catching her favorite musical either in theaters or live on stage.
