Tyler Carey originally came to WKYC as a news intern, and impressed management enough for them to keep him on as a weekend assignment editor. It was while in this role that he applied for the digital team, and after a little bit of on-the-job training, he was hired full-time as a content producer in September of 2017.

Tyler's duties are wide-ranging, assisting on hard news events like visits from President Trump and also writing about and giving analysis on sports, including Channel 3's high school football coverage. He even received an Emmy nomination for his producing work on Danielle Serino's story about crooked contractors.

A graduate of Kent State's prestigious journalism program, Tyler was nominated for multiple national awards for his sports reporting and producing work at TV2, including a first place finish from the Press Club of Cleveland for best sports story.

A native of Twinsburg, Tyler is a diehard Cleveland sports fan and also enjoys keeping up with the latest events in politics and religion, the latter of which partially comes from his Catholic faith.
