Cleveland International Film Fest opens Wednesday

The 2018 CIFF runs April 4-15, featuring more than 400 films from 72 countries.

CLEVELAND -- The Cleveland International Film Fests returns Wednesday night to mark another 12 days dedicated to film and creativity.

The 42nd annual film fest kicks off in a opening night celebration Wednesday at Playhouse Square's Connor Palace. The opening night feature is the international premiere of The Drummer and the Keeper, a film about a troubled man who befriends a teen with Asperger's Syndrome.

The 2018 CIFF runs April 4-15 at Tower City Cinemas, featuring more than 400 films from 72 countries.

Films range from a diverse array of genres and topics, including a short film on the death of Cleveland baseball player Ray Chapman, to a virtual reality experience set to the Civil Rights movement. You can also see Grove Hill: A True Story, a documentary on a local tradition known as the Chagrin Falls Pumpkin Roll.
