Sixth City Sailors Club now open featuring fun cocktails and roomy patio

Austin Love visited the new spot on the latest NorthEATS Ohio.

CLEVELAND — Tucked away off Euclid Avenue in downtown Cleveland, you'll find Northeast Ohio's newest nautical getaway.

Owner Joey Fredrickson says that he has had his eye on this location for sometime. When Hodges, the previous restaurant to fill the space, closed their doors, Fredrickson jumped at the opportunity to take over.

Also the owner of the swanky cocktail bar, Society Lounge, on E. 4th, Fredrickson wanted a more laid back approach for Sixth City Sailors Club.

"Fun, fast, casual. We want it to be relaxed," said Fredrickson.

His vision is to create a sort of backyard for downtown residents. On their large patio, they have different games, lounge areas, and a fire pit.

With that, he wanted to make it a place that the whole neighborhood could afford. Their burgers start at $6 and they aim to always feature a $2 beer.

"I want this very much to be a place that I can go on a Tuesday, Thursday, Friday... and be able to budget around that," said Fredrickson.

As well as signature cocktails like their Dark and Stormy Slushie, they also have smash hits coming from the kitchen designed by Chef, Jeff Jarrett.

The menu features seafood classics like a lobster roll and poke bowls. On top of that, more traditional favorites like a cheeseburger, Polish boy, and adult grilled cheese with a bloody mary dip.

Sixth City Sailors Club has their grand opening this evening at 4:00 p.m.
