CLEVELAND — Have you lived in Northeast Ohio forever, or maybe you're new to the area? Whatever your story, the region has tons to offer when it comes to experiences and adventures. 

However, at times it can be hard to find and narrow down the best ways to spend your time. That's where I come in.

Normally, I keep you up to date on the latest pop culture stories every day in "Pop Break" on "What's New" at 5 p.m., but now, with this new segment "3 Things Poppin' in Northeast Ohio," I'll be sharing with you my picks for trendy things to do on the weekends.

So without further delay, here's what I think you should check out this weekend, May 6- May 8.

Mother’s Day concert at Sylks (Barry White and Teddy Pendergrass tribute) 

If you have a music lover on your hands how about a Barry White & Teddy Pendergrass tribute concert and meal.

Hubb’s Groove is powering two shows featuring Gerald Skilllern and Walter Anthony Jr as vocalists at Skylks in Maple Heights.

The performances will kick off at 2 p.m. and 5: 30 p.m.

Tickets start at $45 bucks and include food and the live entertainment.

Explore the Cleveland or Akron zoos 

And if you have an animal lover in your life.

Both the Cleveland and Akron zoos are offering free admission to moms and grandmothers all day on Sunday!

Brunch on the Goodtime Sunday

Do  the women in your life like to set sail?

How about brunch on the Goodtime III?

The popular Cleveland cruise ship will board at noon on Sunday and there’s still seats available on the upper deck.

For just under $50 bucks, guests will enjoy brunch and live music, all while riding along the Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie
