Akron officials also announced a new 'alternative' series for July, held in partnership with jenY 107.3, which will offer visitors drinks, food, games and music every Thursday night throughout the month.

Of course, the summer wouldn't be complete without Akron's famous movie nights. This year, the city will hold a series of movies that will be played not just at the Lock 3 venue, but across the city.
