Hundreds 'Run Through History' at Lake View Cemetery

More than 300 runners gathered at the historic cemetery for a two-mile walk or 5K run.

CLEVELAND — Hundreds gathered Sunday at the historic Lake View Cemetery for its eighth annual Run Through History.

There, participants got to take in the beautiful views of the cemetery that stretch along 285 acres. The 2-mile walk began at 8:30 a.m.; the 5K began at 9 a.m.

Race organizers said the course was tough because of the many hills throughout the cemetery. After stepping across the finish, runners received tongue-and-cheek medals that read, "You buried the competition."

Proceeds for the event went towards Lake View Cemetery and school programs to which they're connected.
