SHINEfest in Kent working to spread good vibes to Northeast Ohio

The first-time festival is expecting to welcome more than 500 participants

KENT, Ohio — If you’re looking for a relaxing and positive activity this weekend, the SHINEfest in Kent is the perfect thing.

On Saturday, from 9:30 am until 5 p.m., SHINE education and retreat center is taking over Fred Fuller Park for its first-ever SHINEfest.

The event is being dubbed as a good vibes festival offering more than 50 small business vendors, health and wellness activities, food trucks, live music and more. Despite the event's infancy, SHINE is expecting more than 500 participants.

The event is kid and pet friendly, with a portion of ticket sales going toward the Portage Animal Protective League.

SHINEfest is spearheaded by Courtney Martinelli, who created SHINE in 2020 as a way to educate and empower people. Through the business, she hosts 150+ events annually, partnering with many like-minded businesses and teachers/speakers.

Martinelli’s Canter offers classes, certifications, corporate trainings, weekly yoga sessions and retreats.
