The Salvation Army to host multiple events in May to help feed the hungry

Little Caesars and the Greater Cleveland Food Bank will team up with The Salvation Army for various events in May and throughout the summer.

CLEVELAND — The Salvation Army announced two events in the Cleveland area to help get food into the hands of those who need it the most.

The first event will take place on Friday, May 20 at 12:30 p.m. The Salvation Army will partner with Little Caesars and their “Little Caesars Love Kitchen” to give out pizza to those in need. Pizzas will be given out at 1507 Doan Avenue at the East Cleveland Corps.

The “Little Caesars Love Kitchen” visited over 100 cities in 2021 and served nearly 100,000 people across the United States and Canada.

The second event is a series of free produce giveaways at The Salvation Army West Park Corps on 12645 Lorain Avenue. The Salvation Army is continuing its partnership with the Greater Cleveland Food Bank to get over 12,000 pounds of fresh produce into the homes of participating local residents every month.

The first giveaway is on Friday, May 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Here is a list of future dates for the produce giveaway:

  • Friday, June 17
  • Friday, July 15
  • Friday, August 19
  • Friday, September 16
