CLEVELAND — So much has changed at the brand-new Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, the venue formerly known as Quicken Loans Arena in downtown Cleveland.
From new restaurants, to updated wifi, to new hardwood on the playing floor.
Monday night, the arena rocked out in celebration as Akron's own The Black Keys performed in the first big event in the building's new era.
The $185 million project required two years of renovations, including a new exterior, new vendors and a revamped overall aesthetic.
So now that the arena is open, what's next?
The Cleveland Cavaliers will hold their first preseason game at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse on October 7 against San Lorenzo of Argentina. The Cavs extended their lease at the arena through 2034, an era that will be highlighted by the NBA All-Star Game in 2022.
Also coming to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in 2020 will be the first and second rounds of the Division I men's NCAA basketball tournament on March 20-22.
Finally, Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse and the City of Cleveland will host the 2024 NCAA Women’s Basketball Final Four.
In addition to Cleveland Cavaliers and Cleveland Monsters games, Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse will also host some of your favorite musical acts on stage. Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, and Elton John are all among the artists scheduled to perform in Cleveland this fall at the FieldHouse.
