Neve Campbell signs onto "Scream 5," Miley Cyrus on Dolly Parton's upcoming Christmas album, and how "The Voice" evolved during the COVID-19 pandemic

Spoiler alert: tee-shirt cannons are included

LOS ANGELES — A famous face returns to a horror franchise, Miley Cyrus dishes on why Dolly Parton is the only one who can get her in the Christmas spirit during the summer, and "The Voice" is back. These are the top headlines around Hollywood.

Sidney Prescott is back.

Neve Campbell has officially signed on to reprise her role as the iconic character in the "Scream" franchise.

Campbell shared the news on Instagram Thursday night, writing "Hello again, Sidney… #ImBack @ScreamMovies."

The actor will appear alongside other veterans of the franchise, Courteney Cox and David Arquette.

The movie will also introduce several brand new characters, played by up and coming actors like "The Boys" star Jack Quaid, "13 Reason's Why" actor Dylan Minnette, and "YOU" star Jenna Ortega.

The franchise's creator, Wes Craven, will not return to direct but has handed the reigns to Matt Bettenelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, directors of the 2019 horror/thriller "Ready or Not."

The film will make it's way to theaters in January of 2022.

Miley Cyrus is in the holiday spirit and it's all thanks to Dolly Parton.

The singer stopped by "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" on Thursday to talk about her new album, "Midnight Sky," and the two quickly got to talking about "A Holly Dolly Christmas," which they are both featured on.

Miley told Fallon that although she had originally asked Dolly for an extension on getting her part of the song done, Dolly was not having it.

According to Miley, Dolly made her get into the Christmas spirit in the middle of summer, having her record their song early so that printing of the physical records could be done in time for Christmas.

"Only for Dolly do you sing a Christmas carol in your kitchen in the middle of July" Miley told Fallon, "only for Dolly does Christmas come in July."

And "The Voice" is back.

The judges are back and ready to fight, pulling out the claws in an effort to win this new- and unconventional- season.

The show is following social distance guidelines, spreading out the chairs to reach six feet apart, and restricting access between the judges and their new team members.

In a new look at the upcoming season, Judge Gwen Stefani has taken the opportunity to get her own tee-shirt cannon, launching "Team Gwen" shirts at her contestants.

It will be interesting to see how it all goes down when the new season premieres on October 19.
