Not that we needed anyone to tell us, but Cedar Point has been confirmed as the best amusement park in the United States.

Cedar Point earned the top spot in USA Today's annual "10Best" as chosen by readers. It's a distinction the park has earned multiple times before.

"Located on a Lake Erie peninsula in Sandusky, Ohio, Cedar Point bills itself as 'the roller coaster capital of the world' with 18 thrilling coasters covering 10 miles of track (out of more than 70 total rides)," the editors wrote. "The 364-acre park has a history dating back to 1870, making it the second oldest continually operated amusement park on the continent, and it's managed to maintain that classic park feel, complete with 3 miles of midway and one of the only operating D.C. Muller carousels in the world."

The nominees were chosen by a panel of experts and eventually voted on by the readers. In addition, Hotel Breakers was also chosen as the best amusement park hotel, while Steel Vengeance was named the best roller coaster in the county just one year after earning best new coaster.

"We’ve made it our mission to be the top destination for family fun, and these awards help validate our team’s efforts," Jason McClure, vice president and general manager of Cedar Point, said. "We’ve been a summertime tradition for almost 150 years, and we won't ever rest on our promise to deliver an exceptional experience for our guests."
