Cedar Point may have just closed for the season less than two weeks ago, but park officials are not letting that stop them from looking forward to 2022.

On Friday, Director of Communications Tony Clark shared in a post that the famous Sandusky theme park is "working on a project back in Frontier Town."

Earlier this year, Cedar Point's parent company Cedar Fair announced that a new restaurant would be coming next season. Today, Clark shared more information on the culinary endeavor.

"The new location will be built on the site of the Antique Cars ride. So that means this ride will not return in 2022, but we still have the Cadillac Cars – a very similar ride – for you to enjoy going forward," Clark wrote. "Our entire team is working on menu, theming, name and more. All of that will be revealed in the coming months. The culinary experience at Cedar Point continues to get better each season, and this is another huge step in providing quality dining experiences for all tastes and preferences."

Clark also confirmed the project is set to keep the covered bridge located in Frontier Town, and added that guests "should have the opportunity to walk over it."

Unfortunately, the Antique Cars are not the only attraction that parkgoers had to say goodbye to this year. Theme park officials confirmed over the summer that Wicked Twister would not be around in the 2022 season.

Wicked Twister originally made its debut on the Lake Erie shoreline in 2002 and officials say the roller coaster gave more than 16 million rides before its closing Labor Day weekend.

As for what else to expect next season? Who knows! The sky's the limit.
