Pop Break on What’s New: Jessica Simpson’s abuse struggles, Diddy's new moniker, how Harry and Meghan are fighting for Archie and more

Jessica Simpson’s struggles with abuse, Harry and Meghan fighting for Archie, and the new moniker Diddy wants to go by--- Pop Break on What’s New!

CLEVELAND —

During Wednesday’s Pop Break on "What's New," Digital Anchor Stephanie Haney covers how Diddy is changing the name and the game once again, Kate Middleton’s revelation that many believe is a subtle offer of support to Meghan Markle, the real reason that Prince Harry and Meghan decided to make their exit, and the shocking announcement Jessica Simpson made about her health.

Jessica Simpson says she was killing herself with pills and alcohol in her new memoir, "Open Book.” The singer turned reality star opens up about being sexually abused as a child, as early as six-years-old, and how that pain mixed with career struggles fueled her addiction.

Simpson said quitting was easy,  because she was "mad at the bottle," but letting go of these secrets was a "hard, deep emotional journey." Simpson thanks her husband, Eric Johnson, her family and her friends for helping her to keep her sobriety since 2017. Her new book will debut in early February.

Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle, is making his opinion known in regards to Harry and Meghan’s recent decision to step back from the royal family as “senior royals.” Markle says his daughter is "cheapening" the royal family and turning the House of Windsor into "A Walmart with a crown on it.” Thomas has been estranged from his daughter since just before Harry and her were married in 2019.

Meghan and Harry made the call to step back after their son Archie was born, which they immediately received pushback for from royal advisors who wanted them to be more open with baby pictures in the press. The final straw for Meghan was the push to make Archie’s christening public, something that she was not in favor of. However, Meghan may be getting subtle support from sister-in-law Kate, who today revealed that after Prince George’s birth in 2014, she remembers feeling isolated. The couple was living in Anglesey, Wales at the time while Prince William worked in the Royal Air Force. Kate says that William was working all the time, and it was tough to not have any family around.

Sean "Diddy" Combs has legally changed his middle name from John to Love, and wants to be known as 'Brother love" from here on out. The singer and rapper, whose Wikipedia page recognizes six different names as “his,” says "you can address me by any of my older names, but if you still wanna call me Love, you can call me Love, baby."
