You may have heard the term “summer slide” from teachers or other parents, but what does it mean? Summer slide is what happens when kids are no longer in school and academically engaged daily and the skills students learn during the school year are lost or even forgotten over the summer. Anne Huntington of Huntington Learning Center joined Michael and Danielle to share some ideas on how to prevent it.

Below are questions Danielle and Michael asked Anne
Why is it so important to prevent an academic summer slide?
How can you help your kids avoid it?
What else can parents do to keep their kids engaged in learning over the summer?
Why should parents enroll their child in a tutoring program?

How are you helping your children avoid the summer slide? Let us know through our social media, ‘Live on Lakeside’.
