What is electrophysiology – and how does it help heart patients?
So you see you see patients who have irregular heart rhythms. One of the most common is atrial fibrillation, or “a fib,” right? Can you tell us what a fib is and what symptoms a patient might experience that should prompt them to talk to their doctor?
What are other heart conditions that you often see? And what should patients know about them so they can determine if they need help?
Who is most at risk for these types of problems? Do men get it more than women? Does being older make you more at risk? What if you’re overweight or diabetic?
If you find a heart rhythm issue, how do you treat it? What options are available?
Akron General recently invested more than $2 million to upgrade its Electrophysiology Lab. Can you tell us a little about what that means for patients?
