Last time we talked to our last guest he was just heading back out to Hollywood to get back to his love of writing comedy – this time for a show called “The Orville” on Fox. But he came home to spend July 4th in his favorite city of all – Cleveland. Dan O’Shannon was back on the show today to fill us in on his latest project.
Below are questions Hollie and Alexa had for Dan:
Tell us about the show you’re working on now “The Orville?
You’ve worked on shows like Modern Family and Cheers. How is this show different from a classic sitcom?
Seth McFarlane who created the show and stars on it is so multi-talented…he writes, he produces, he acts…is it easier or more difficult to work with someone who is accomplished in so many areas?
How long does it take to create an episode of this show?
How many main characters are on the show and what kinds of challenges does that bring when you have such a large cast?
Cleveland has had a long history of great writers and producers from here heading out to LA…why do you think that is? We know there are Browns backers everywhere – do people from Cleveland seek each other out in the entertainment world or is it just so diverse that you don’t run across each other?
If you could change anything about this new project – what would it be?
What kind of an experience is it to be the new guy on an established show?
