But now women are challenging this mindset - and Marissa sat down with Alexa tell why “leaning in” doesn’t really work. Merissa is a veteran of Google - and Facebook! - and she’s written a new book - “Lean Out: The Truth about Women, Power and the Workplace”.

Wow! “Lean In” was a hugely successful book! But now there’s a counter revolution to Lean Out. What does that mean? And why doesn’t “Lean In” work?
You were at the top of the ranks at Google - and then were lured away to work at Facebook - which you called a “broken experience”. Is that what inspired you to write this book?
If what we’re doing right now isn’t working, what do you suggest we do to fix it and/pr close the gender gap?
So part of that change you say means we need to stop mistaking female-dominant traits like empathy as a sign of weakness. What do you mean by that?
For women who are frustrated with career trajectory and are looking for support or guidance, what advice would you give?
