CLEVELAND — Football is back!

While the Broncos and Falcons do battle on the turf at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium down in Canton, Browns fans are looking ahead to one week from now when the preseason kicks off at FirstEnergy Stadium against the Redskins.

With one week of Training Camp in the books, it's time to get a progress report from 'The Voice of the Browns,' Jim Donovan.

"Pass to score, run to win"

For anyone who was wondering about how hard Freddie Kitchens would push the Browns in his first season as head coach, not to worry. Practices have been long, padded, and very physical, according to Jimmy.

Keep in mind, Kitchens' first NFL coaching experience came in 2006 with the Dallas Cowboys and Bill Parcells. That's what this camp looks like. It's Parcells 2.0.

The Browns are going to be explosive on offense this fall, with Baker Mayfield equipped with weapons like Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry, David Njoku, and so on. Make no mistake, however, Kitchens wants this team to be physical. They want to be able to pound the football to close out ballgames.

Jimmy busted out the phrase "Pass to score, run to win" during the show on Thursday, and I think that's a pretty good representation of what the Browns' game plans will be. Nick Chubb will be getting plenty of work on Sundays and here's hoping it will be in the fourth quarter of games when the Browns are trying to seal some victories.

Everyone's on the same page

In June, Mike Silver of the NFL Network put out this tweet:

I think we were all so caught up in the Baker v. Duke situation that the report of offensive coordinator Todd Monken having problems with the 'transition' in Cleveland went under the radar. I have no idea if it's true, but Monken did a great job diffusing any potential problem during his press conference.

"Whatever we do offensively, it is the Cleveland Browns offense. It is what we do. There is not a place I have been where there is not differing opinions, you are building an offense and you are working through it. I do not know where that comes from. It really does not bother me because we know what we are building. It is not coming from my end. Freddie already addressed it. To me, it has been great. To me, when someone says Freddie is going to be more involved, that is silly. He is the head coach and he is going to call the plays. I do not get that. It makes no sense to me," he told reporters.

Jimmy added that he hasn't seen any rough patches at all.

Greedy

Earlier today, Jimmy's Take featured a lot from the 'Voice of the Browns' about Greedy Williams. The rookie from LSU has moved up the depth chart into a starting cornerback spot.

Greedy is performing so well, according to Jimmy, that even OBJ moved over to the other side of the field on offense to go up against Denzel Ward.

Not a bad way to start your first camp.

Greedy and the Browns defense have received more accolades than the offense thus far in camp, however Jimmy feels that the 'O' has started to pick it up over the last two days. The Browns will have a practice in Berea on Friday, then hold their Brown and Orange Scrimmage at FirstEnergy Stadium on Saturday.

It's almost here.
