New in Town: Jason Mikell 'taps in' at a new spot in Lakewood

Tapster Cleveland, a new bar and tasting room, has bloomed just in time for Spring.

LAKEWOOD, Ohio — Ready, set, pour!

The first franchise location for Tapster operating on the self-pour model with a lighter vibe, complete with neon lights, murals, art on the walls, pool tables, and even a swing table.

"I just wanted to introduce something different into the market that people can come and enjoy" says Jordan Kay, owner of Tapster Cleveland on Detroit Avenue in Lakewood.

Located at the former home of Upper Crust pizza, the place has been white-boxed and whitened with new paint, skylights, new flooring, and even live plants to freshen up the place.

"This is a place that's born from the neighborhood and embraces Cleveland," says Jordan. "Murals were done by local muralists, skateboards over our booths are done by local artists, the wood on all of our tables were made by a piece of Cleveland on the east side. We have all of our tables made from trees cut down across Cleveland...and it was important for us to embrace local Ohio artists and artisans to put this place together and we will continue to do that having art for sale from local artists."

Tapster Cleveland features a 30-tap self-pour self-tasting room with 21 of those being beer, including a cider and also three batch of cocktails courtesy of Happy Camper bar cart based out of Akron. Also, there are 3 wines on tap available for wine lovers also!

In addition to your thirsty palate, there are 14 televisions available for watching sports on game day, and even for our performers and thespians for awards shows like the Oscars and the Tonys. Even for those celebrating big lifetime events, there is a rent space available and table reserves for a retirement event, birthday parties, and catered events that are all family-friendly with items available for the young.
