CLEVELAND — When a local 13-year-old was diagnosed with cancer, it's tough to imagine what was going through her mind.
Now, a year later, she's thriving. That's thanks, in part, to a great place for families dealing with the challenges the disease presents.
On Wednesday's Donovan Live, Jimmy welcomed Shamari Brazile to the show, along with Casey Durkin of The Gathering Place.
Shamari went to The Gathering Place and took yoga classes to build up strength as she returned to playing lacrosse. This Sunday, she'll join hundreds of others running in 'Race for the Place,' a 5k and 1 Mile run/walk at Beachwood Place.
Proceeds from Race for the Place help support The Gathering Place's free programs and services. WKYC's Senior Health Correspondent Monica Robins will serve as the race's emcee.
