CLEVELAND — Usually when someone tells you to take a hike, it is not a good thing. On Sunday, Sept. 15, it will most certainly be a good thing.
That's the day of the third annual Hike & Seek for Research event. It is a hiking and scavenger hunt that raises important funding for the Research Institute for Children's Health at Case Western Reserve University's School of Medicine.
The institute researches treatments and cures for kids suffering from disease and disorders. The program has grown from supporting research in one disease area in 2015 to now 21 diseases this year.
The Hike and Seek event starts at the Oak Grove Picnic Shelter in the Brecksville Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks, where participants get their special bandanna and their "seek" list to find hidden items along the trails. This is the chance to win prizes.
There's also a new "Super Seek" competition to win premium prizes.
Registration is open now until Sept. 15. Early registrants save $10 off of day-of registration.
