One simple and easy way to give back is to donate blood. Today we were joined by Jim Mcintyre, the Communications and Marketing Manager at the American Red Cross Northeast Ohio Region, and Benjamin Holbert, III – the Mayor of the Village of Woodmere.

Here are the questions Jasmine and Michael asked:
Ben – Why did the Village of Woodmere propose doing a “First Responder” blood drive?
Police and Fire are first on the scene of accidents. So, I would assume they see victims of all kinds and some that require blood transfusions?
What would you say to people who are squeamish about giving blood?
Who do you want to donate at the first responders blood drive?
We’ve heard that people need to lead by example – as Mayor, do you plan on giving blood?
Jim – who can give blood and how often?
How long do blood supplies remain in a hospital?
We are going into a holiday period – is there greater need at this time?
Is there a special need for a specific type of blood – perhaps O-negative?
If my group wants to have a blood drive, what do we need to do?
