Josh Gad reunites 'Lord of the Rings' cast, and Ariana Grande, Timothee Chalamet, and more celebs protest the death of George Floyd

Plus, the music industry will go on 'blackout' Tuesday to protest racial inequality

CLEVELAND — Josh Gad is saving 2020, celebrities spend the weekend protesting the killing of George Floyd, and how the music industry is taking part in the ongoing demonstrations against police brutality. These are the top headlines from Hollywood.

'Frozen' actor Josh Gad has launched a new Youtube channel that is reuniting cast members from past films from a proper social distance.

Gad has already brought together 'Back to the Future' and 'Splash' castmembers, and this weekend he wrangled Elijah Wood, Sean Astin , Orlando Bloom, and more to put on a virtual reunion for the cast of 'Lord of the Rings.'

The cast discussed iconic scenes, iconic memes, and everything in between.

The best part? The video is a fundraiser for No Kid Hungry and as of 5:00 p.m. on June 1, they have raised $86,423. Wow.

The full video is 50-minutes, but it's full of the cast detailing fun memories and moments from the set and their experience.

And while Gad was reuniting the cast of 'Lord of the Rings,' dozens of celebrities were uniting to fight for justice for the death of George Floyd, the Minneapolis man who was killed by a police officer last week.

Ariana Grande, Timothee Chalamet, J Cole, Tessa Thompson and more famous names took to the street over the weekend to protest racial inequality and police brutality in the United States.

Cleveland Native Machine Gun Kelly participated in a demonstration over the weekend, posting a picture to Instagram saying "justice soon."

Rallies drew large crowds all around the country, and thousands of demonstrators nationwide.

In solidarity with the calls for justice in the killing of George Floyd, several big-name companies have announced a 'blackout' in the music industry.

Atlantic Records, Def Jam, Sony, Warner Bros., and more have pledged to take part in the day-long 'blackout.'

Many companies have decided to give employees the day off, or to not release music this week as a show of support to the Black Lives Matter community and the fight against racial inequality.

"We must use our voices to affect change" Def Jam records said in an Instagram post, "we must confront systematic racism. We must challenge broken leadership. We must fight for the safety and dignity of black lives in peril."

Anyone interested in participating in the 'blackout' is encouraged to use '#theshowmustbepaused' and '#blacklivesmatter' on social media.
