Mornings with Chud: My adventurous first month with the morning crew

If you have been wondering where I've been at night, you just need to wake up in the morning to find me.

On Oct. 22, I made my debut as news anchor on Channel 3 News Today from 4-7 a.m.

It’s been a great ride with Maureen Kyle, Hollie Strano and the entire morning crew, which I think is an amazing news team. I am all about bringing energy to help start your day with a smile, and I don’t even drink coffee… The rest of the crew drinks enough!

We deliver the important up-to-the-minute news of the day, including weather, traffic and sports, but we also want to have fun and share our opinion.

I was born and raised in Cleveland and love my city. As time goes on, I want to share with you why it’s so special to me. My favorite spots in town, like Close Quarters in Avon Lake where you can find the best wings in town. We had them on the show.

I have no problem sharing some secrets like chocolate syrup on Cheerios, milk and syrup mixed with applesauce, or noodles inside a hot dog. I know, I know… Just try it, it’s good!

Can you believe Maureen never had Taco Bell or Ramen Noodles? Well, that changed because she sampled some live on the air.

You never know what can happen in the mornings now on Lakeside Ave.

In my first 27 days on air with the morning team, we’ve already celebrated Halloween, Thanksgiving and WKYC’s 70th anniversary. Having my mom come into the station to share her Concord grape pie recipe was more than a special moment for me. We’ve covered some heartbreaking stories as well, along with a very important election day. We’ve already seen snow and multiple Victory Monday’s for the Browns! Yes, you can you believe it! The Sunday Night Football Bus even paid us a visit.

We want you to interact with us as well on social media with Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. We are all active and want to hear your thoughts. We have an instant poll throughout the week that you can take part in, today it was real or fake Christmas tree, what do you prefer? I say real, by the way! Each week you can catch my thoughts on WKYC.com with Mornings with Chud.

So, "Super Dave" (that’s what they call me) may have moved to a different time of the day, but now I have much more time to share with you Cleveland! If you’re already watching you know, if not jump on board. We truly are a “League Of Our Own.”
