3News welcomes Matt Standridge to the weather team

Matt will be our weekend evening meteorologist for "3News: What Matters Most" at 6 p.m. and "3News: What's Next" at 11 p.m.

CLEVELAND — There’s a new member of the 3News family.

Matthew Standridge has joined our team of meteorologists after moving to Cleveland with his wife fresh off their marriage. Matt will become our weekend evening meteorologist for "3News: What Matters Most" at 6:00 p.m. and "3News: What's Next" at 11:00 p.m. joining Lynna Lai, Andrew Horansky and Sports Anchor Nick Camino.

Matt comes to Cleveland from our Tegna affiliate in Fayetteville, Arkansas, where he worked on the morning show with a forecast known as “Arkansas Adventures.”

Born in Oklahoma, Matt eventually moved to upstate New York where he fell in love with a concept called "Lake Effect Snow." He graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology with a minor in Digital Media.

Matt's career even took him to North Dakota where he held a Radar Meteorologist position that involved directing air traffic control.

You may have even seen some of his hit TikTok videos, several of which have racked up more than one million views (check out a few below).

He’s also recently married.

On Aug. 13, he posted a farewell message to his fans in Arkansas while announcing his decision to join 3News.

“I am looking forward to the next step in my career as our parent company transfers and promotes me to our sister station WKYC Channel 3 in Cleveland, Ohio. To be honest I’ve teared up a few times about leaving as I close this blessed chapter in my life. A lot of cool things though are on the way!”
