In this 2019 interview, Jennifer Hurd from Bank of America and John Kunzo, a 2017 student leader, discuss his experience in the annual program.
Bank of America is accepting applicants for its annual Student Leader Program, which recognizes young people who are committed to making their communities better.
High school students selected for the program will receive a paid internship at a local nonprofit for eight weeks and will be paid $17 an hour for 35 hours of work weekly.
In addition to the internship, participants will attend the week-long Student Leaders Summit in Washington, D.C. and network with like-minded peers from across the country.
Applicants must be current juniors or seniors in high school and reside in Cuyahoga, Geauga, Franklin or Hamilton counties. Applications are open through Friday, Jan. 29. Four students each from Cleveland, Columbus and Cincinnati will be selected.
Timing of the internship will be based on when students get out of school, typically at the end of May or in early June. The trip to Washington, D.C. is scheduled for July 12-17, although due to COVID-19, it is subject to change to a virtual experience. To apply click here.
