WILLOUGHBY, Ohio — For nearly six months the country has been fighting the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic. And to navigate the highs and the lows, many of us have found unique ways to cope with " pandemic problems."
With encouragement from a teacher, one local boy is sharing his struggles through song.
Meet Gianni DiFlavio.
He's 10-years-old, and can now add song writer to his repertoire. Gianni has been taking piano lessons at Willoughby Fine Arts since he was a baby, and his quite the knack for it.
When the pandemic began, he and his brother's lessons went virtual. To keep things exciting, instructor Maryann Messina challenged her students to write a song about the Coronavirus.
That's where the "COVID-19 Blues" was born.
Gianni says it was kind of hard to write at first, but once he thought about how much he missed sports and his family who lives in Canada, the lyrics began to flow.
Out of all the songs in the challenge, Messina chose his as the winner. Though sports like soccer have begun again to keep Gianni busy, he will continue piano practice every week.
Here are the lyrics to the "COVID-19 Blues"....they're pretty catchy!
Covid 19.
Can’t do a thing,
Can’t do any sports
I’m always so bored
Can’t do nothing bout the
Covid 19
Covid 19
Can’t do a thing
Can’t go to Canada
To see my family
Somebody cure the
Covid 19
Can’t somebody stop the
Please somebody help the
Covid 19
