Man trying to break Guinness World Record at I-X Indoor Amusement Park

A local DJ is hoping to stay on the I-X Indoor Amusement Park's Ferris wheel for 55 straight hours.

CLEVELAND -- How long could you sit on a Ferris wheel?

DJ Knyce of Z107.9 is attempting to break the record for world’s longest marathon Ferris wheel ride.

His goal is to rotate on the ride for 55 consecutive hours on the Ferris Wheel at the I-X Indoor Amusement Park, breaking the current record by 300 minutes.

It starts at 7 a.m. Friday (April 1) and will continue until 2 p.m. Sunday (April 3).

He will be given a five-minute break every hour to use the bathroom and get food, but will not be permitted to sleep during the record attempt.

If he completes all 55 hours, DJ Knyce will rotate on the 125-foot tall Ferris wheel an estimated 5,000 times.

Guests at the I-X Indoor Amusement Park can ride with Knyce, while helping raise money for the Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland.

The ride is a year-round staple of the I-X Center. When it debuted at the 1992 Cleveland Auto Show, it was the world’s tallest indoor Ferris wheel. At its apex, riders climb into a glass atrium for views 35 feet above the I-X Center's roof.
