Rock hiding game going viral across Northeast Ohio

A twist on Hide-and- Go Seek going viral in NEO,  If you have spotted painted rocks across the area, you aren’t alone – in fact you may be part of a hide-and-go-seek game you didn’t even know about.

CLEVELAND -- Painted rocks are popping up across Northeast Ohio thanks to the Facebook group ‘Northeast Ohio Rocks.’

The idea is pretty simple: Paint a rock, then hide it.

If you find the rock, snap a photo, post it on the Facebook page and then re-hide the rock.

The group was created by an Alliance couple who have painted and hidden more than 200 rocks all across Northeast Ohio.

Instructions are posted on the back of the rocks.

Nancy Sue got the idea from her daughter-in-law is part of a group in Oak Harbor, Washington, and the idea is catching on fast in the Cleveland area.

They have added more than 2,000 members in just one week.

“The idea is to get out and get moving,” said Sue in the group post.

Thousands of rocks have been hidden and found all across the area.
