WKYC was honored to be awarded the “Alan R. Schonberg Community Rescuer Award” for our See the Possible mission and execution in our communities every day at the Values-in-Action Foundation award dinner on Thursday Jan. 18.
The mission of the Values-In-Action Foundation is to “empower students and adults to build communities of kindness, caring and respect through programs that teach, promote, and provide skills and tools to enable individuals to make positive values-based decisions every day.”
Its programs include Project Love, a nationally recognized character-building curriculum for students, plus Purple America, which promotes civil conversations in communities, schools and businesses.
This annual dinner, held at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven in Mayfield Heights, recognizes corporations and citizens that embody the foundation’s mission, by helping to build communities of kindness.
