CLEVELAND — Cleveland Animal Care and Control, the city of Cleveland kennel, also known  as "City Dogs" is full to the brim!

In an effort to get as many dogs adopted as possible for the holiday, the dog adoption fee has been reduced to $21 through December  31, 2021.

Potential adopters are welcome to stop by the kennel at 9203 Detroit Avenue to visit the available dogs. Visiting hours are Saturday, December 18 and Sunday, December 19 from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. No appointment is needed during these days and hours. Appointments can also be made by completing the kennel's meet and greet form.

All dogs available for adoption have had basic vaccinations, have been spayed or neutered, have a dog license and have been microchipped.

Those interested in adopting a dog from City Dogs will be paired with an adoption counselor to ensure the perfect match is made between dog and adopter.

For more information: citydogs@clevelandohio.gov or 216-664-3476. To view the shelter's adoptable dogs: http://www.petango.com/cacc.

Adoption is not for everyone so anyone interested in helping the staff and volunteers at the city kennel can do so by donating dog treats, durable chew toys, canned dog food, and medium and large martingale collars. The donations can be dropped off at the kennel.

City Dogs also has a wish list of items needed. Anything purchased on the wish list will be shipped directly to the kennel.

Please consider adopting a shelter dog!  All the residents at City Dogs are said to be on Santa's "nice" list and just want to have a home of their own for the holidays!
