WESTLAKE, Ohio — The Crocker Park Wine Festival is this weekend, and it promises to draw wine lovers from across Northeast Ohio. Visitors will have the opportunity to try and sample different wines from around the world.

Ahead of this weekend's event we spoke to John Constantine from Vintage Wine Distributor about the ABC's of wine tasting.

According to Constantine, the first thing when sampling wine is to A, check the appearance. "You can tell a lot about a wine by it's color, even how old it is."

The best way to view wine is by tilting the glass and looking at the wine through the rim.

B, smell the wine. Constantine says to truly get the best sniff of the wine's aroma is to put your nose as close to the opening of your glass as possible. It's important to swirl the wine as well because it releases the wine's natural scent.

C: Taste! The key here is not to gulp the wine, but to slowly sip it. Constantine stresses to be patient drinking a glass.

Crocker Park Wine Festival will showcase more than 150 wines from local, national and international producers. Guests will also enjoy different beer, live music and food.

Hours: 4-10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13 and 2-10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14.
