Cleveland native Michael Symon returns home for celebrity chef tour

Symon cooked for the James Beard Foundation's Celebrity Chef Tour.

CLEVELAND — Celebrity chef Michael Symon was back home on Wednesday.

The Cleveland native cooked for the James Beard Foundation's Celebrity Chef Tour.

The tour travels to more than 20 cities across the country.

Attendees enjoyed a multi-course meal from top chefs from across the country, and locally.

When we asked Symon to name some top Cleveland gems, not surprisingly, his mind turned to food!

"People always go, 'I'm going to Cleveland to go to the Rock Hall.' I'm like, 'The Rock Hall is awesome, and great, and cool. Go to the West Side Market, that's Cleveland to its core.' Third, fourth, fifth generation families doing things the right way, putting out Eastern European meats," Symon told us.

He also said he loves Mr. Brisket on the east side and Sokolowski's.
