Heinen's to no longer offer grocery delivery via Instacart

The last day to place an order via Instacart is Tuesday, Feb. 21.

CLEVELAND — A popular Northeast Ohio grocery chain has announced that it will no longer be available via Instacart starting next week. 

On Wednesday morning, Heinen's took to Facebook to share that the last day to place an order directly with Instacart is Tuesday, Feb. 21. 

"We strive to deliver exceptional customer service and want to be sure our loyal customers are the first to know about the exciting changes happening soon to our online grocery delivery and curbside pickup service," said Heinen's officials in a Facebook statement.

What are the new changes? 

  • Heinen's is introducing a new mobile app and upgraded shopping platform on shop.heinens.com. The orders placed online and in the app will be fulfilled by trained Heinen's associates, who will "pick and pack only the best quality groceries for you." 

Will delivery still be available? 

  • Heinen's officials say that delivery and curbside pickup will still be available via the new shopping platform 

How much does curbside pickup cost? 

  • Curbside pickup will be free of charge 

Will alcohol and catering be available for delivery or curbside pickup?

  • Yes, alcohol and catering will be available for delivery or curbside pickup at most stores 

What is the last day to place an order using Instacart? 

  • The last day to place an order with Instacart is Tuesday, Feb. 21

Heinen's also noted that all questions or problems with orders will be handled directly by the customer's local store team or the customer relations team.
