‘Major cable network’ filming at Slyman’s in Cleveland: Fans wanted

Their giant corned beef sandwiches are in focus.

CLEVELAND — Cleveland is skyrocketing back into the national spotlight with one of its most iconic eateries.

Crews from a “major cable network” have descended upon the city to film some sort of food segment at Slyman’s.

Slyman’s posted a tease about the event on social media, saying filming would start at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. They’re asking their biggest fans to join them.

“CALLING ALL SLYMAN’S FANS!" they posted on Twitter. "Now is the time to show your Slyman’s spirit. This TUESDAY, JANUARY 7th, a major cable network will be filming us and we need your help in showcasing our family owned Slyman’s Deli Downtown. Filming will begin at 10:30 a.m. Lights…camera…action!”

What show are they filming? It remains a mystery... for now.

Slyman’s, which first opened in 1964, is best known for its legendary corned beef. Its name has since become synonymous with Cleveland.
