Mitchell's Ice Cream opened its newest location in Westlake on Thursday. The shop, located at 27155 Detroit Road, is the latest addition to the Cleveland ice cream empire and brings the company full circle since it's opening in Westlake in 1999.
On Monday, Westlake Mayor Dennis Clough will host a socially-distanced ribbon-cutting ceremony at noon. However, the new shop is already open from noon- 10 p.m. for indoor and to-go service.
The building is a 3,195-square-foot development and includes an energy-efficient system that collects rainwater that is reused in the plumbing system and landscaping. Of course, the shop also includes the signature toy-train system, which is featured at every location.
