We’re well into the “dog” days of summer, which means it’s the perfect time of year to treat yourself to a good time with man’s best friend.
Besides playing fetch or giving belly rubs at home, there are plenty of fun spots to take you dog around Northeast Ohio. Check out our list of what we think are the best ones!
DOG PARKS
This area is home to more than a dozen dog-friendly parks, where pets can go off-leash and even socialize with other pups.

THE BEACH
Spots like Edgewater, Bowwow Beach, and Fairport Harbor all allow dogs, giving owners and their pets the perfect place to cool off as the temperatures skyrocket.

RESTAURANTS
Most restaurants with patios allow you to bring your pets. Some, like the vegan-friendly Daily Press Juice Bar, even allow you to have them everywhere.

THE METROPARKS
If you’re just looking for a great spot to walk your furry friend, any one of the Metroparks is a perfect location. In Rocky River, you’ll even find the memorial for “Smoky”, who helped comfort troops during World War II as one of the first ever therapy dogs.
