You don't have to have a significant other to celebrate Valentine's Day. You also don't have to give flowers and chocolate like everyone else.

Whether you're a dinner and a movie type, or prefer to seek something more adventurous and off the beaten path, Northeast Ohio has a Valentine's Day event for you. From Galentine's Day celebrations with your friends to romantic dinners for two, check our out list of the area's coolest V-Day events.

Things to do 

Akron Art Museum

What: Take a special couples' tour of the museum as you learn all about love stories behind the works of art. You'll end your evening with champagne and chocolates for the ultimate date night. Learn more here.

Bedford Downtown Chocolate Walk

What: Head to downtown Bedford, where you'll receive a map to visit all the city's sweet spots for a chocolate challenge. In the end, you'll join the other competitors for a raffle drawing. Get tickets here.

Burlesco at The 9

What: Head to The 9's Alex Theater for a special Valentine's burlesque show, complete with glitz and glamour. Get tickets here.

Cleveland Jazz Orchestra's 'Cupid in the CLE'

What: Hear Northeast Ohio's Cleveland Jazz Orchestra with international trombonist Jiggs Whigham and vocalist Evelyn Wright. This special Valentine's show marks makes for a lively date night. Get tickets here.

Drake Party at House of Blues

What: If anyone knows the pain of love, it's Drizzy himself. Get in your feelings and head to the House of Blues' Drake Party, where DJs will be spinning your favorite Drake hits. Get tickets here

Get Stupid with Cupid

What: If you're not a fan of Valentine's Day, or you're still getting over that last breakup, consider Wild Eagle Saloon's Stupid Cupid three-day event. Thursday is Ladies' Night, Friday is Hall Pass Friday and Saturday is Side Piece Saturday. Learn more here.

I Do at Crocker Park

What: For those looking to take things to the next level, Crocker Park is offering weddings without all the fuss. Couples can get married for $50, as long as they have a marriage license and are registered. Ceremonies are 20 minutes long and one lucky couple will win a free honeymoon. Learn more here.

Ogrefest at Brew Kettle

What: Brew Kettle is celebrating bold beers and big food all week, meaning you can find high gravity beers and some outrageous food. The week-long event starts Feb. 8 and runs through Feb. 17. Learn more here.

Piano Valentine at Beachland

Pink the Rink at University Circle

What: Take your sweetheart ice skating at The Rink at Wade Oval, where the ice will be dyed pink. Learn more here.

Pop Rock and Doo Wopp

Rock Hall's Rock & Roll Valentine

What: Take your Valentine to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's Rock Hall Nights event. The theme is rock and roll relationships, meaning the experience will include love, lust, anger and all the usual emotions. You can test your trivia knowledge of rock's most notorious couples, as well as try the Love Hurts Scavenger Hunt. Learn more here.

Run 4 Love

What: Join the virtual Run 4 Love, a race you run anywhere you want at any point during the month of February. You can run a 5K, 10K or half marathon, and the course is up to you. Tower City weddings

What: If you're looking for a special venue to get hitched, consider Tower City's annual event, where Cleveland Municipal Court performs weddings for the 10th year. You'll say "I do" on the grand staircase and become one of many couples to have taken part in the tradition. You'll need your marriage license and must register through the court. Learn more here.

Valentine's Day Carnival at Happy Dog
