From the Super Bowl to a local Puppy Bowl party, there's plenty to do.

Now that you've survived the Polar Vortex, you're likely looking for a reason to get out of the house.

Super Bowl Sunday takes place this weekend, but it's not the only exciting event to keep on your calendar. Before you head over to your friend's house for nachos and wings on Sunday, consider getting out and exploring some of these Northeast Ohio events.

Beijing Dance Theater

What: See the Ohio debut of Beijing Dance Theater in two performances. According to Dance Cleveland, "Delicate, beautiful and filled with technically superb dancers, BDT's works create a meeting point where both traditional Chinese culture influences the movement and innovation pushes the company forward through thought provoking contemporary choreography." Great Big Home and Garden Show

What: Celebrate the approach of spring with more than 600 exhibits to refresh your home. The show has everything from project ideas, advice and deals for all things home improvement, and you can meet HGTV's Eric and Lindsey Bennett from "Desert Flippers." Get tickets here.

Groundhog Fun Day

What: Whether he sees his shadow or not, celebrate the groundhog at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Visitors can meet the museum's resident groundhog, Thistle the Whistlepig, make a groundhog puppet and learn all about the rodent. Learn more here.

Lunar New Year 

What: Celebrate the Lunar New Year in Asia Town with dancing, tai chi and fun. The Kwan Lion and OCA Greater Cleveland dance teams will perform and you can even try some moves yourself. Learn more here.

Metallica

What: Wherever they may roam, Metallica never disappoint their fans. See them Friday at The Q as part of the Worldwired Tour. Get tickets here.

MIX: Media

What: The Cleveland Museum of Art's monthly MIX party takes on a fun theme this month with Media. Experience multimedia art and electronic dance music, as well as art making and special cocktails. Get tickets here.

National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day at Brewnuts

What: Donuts already make for a darn good breakfast, but Brewnuts is perfecting the meal with ice cream in honor of National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day (yes, it's a real thing). They'll be making donut ice cream sandwiches featuring Mitchell's ice cream, which is the best way to eat the most important meal of the day. Learn more here.

Puppy Bowl at Terrestrial Brewing

Speed dating at Side Quest

What: It's not too late to find a date for Valentine's Day. If you're looking for a special someone, head to Side Quest to meet your match. They're playing it safe so that you won't have to give out your number or personal info. Instead, they'll let you know if you had any matches so that the sparks can continue another time. Super Bowl LIII

What: Tom Brady returns to the Super Bowl, this time to take on the Los Angeles Rams, who are looking to top off a storybook season. If the game doesn't interest you, but Adam Levine does, Maroon 5 will headline the halftime show.
