Get ready to kick off the month of May with a big weekend. Several events are planned, most notably May the Fourth, Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby. 

Whether you're going to place your bets, binge on tacos or re-watch "The Force Awakens," there's an event to appeal to all interests this weekend.

Ali Wong

What: Comedian Ali Wong has been igniting laughs ever since her "Baby Cobra" Netflix special dropped in 2016. She followed up with "Hard Knock Wife" last year, chronicling her adventures in motherhood. She'll perform at the Masonic Auditorium for one show Friday. Get tickets here.

Bald Eagle Fest

What: Explore the majestic bald eagle with the Cleveland Museum of Natural History at Mentor Marsh. Hike to see the marsh's eagle nest, shop local vendors and learn all about eagles for free. Learn more and register for a hike here.

Batman's 80th anniversary film screening

What: Celebrate Batman's 80th anniversary with a special screening of the 1989 Michael Keaton classic. Cedar Lee Theatre will show the film for just $7. Get tickets here.

When: Saturday 1 p.m.

Cinco de Mario Kart

What: Celebrate Cinco de Mayo with some Mario Kart 64. Compete for Yuzu gift cards and enjoy Dos Equis samples as you race your way to become the champ. Learn more here

When: Sunday 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Family Day at International Women's Air & Space Museum

What: Head to the museum for a free family day, complete with games, crafts and special meet and greets with police and fire responders. Learn more here.

When: Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Kentucky Derby 

What: Break out your big hat and mix up some mint juleps. The 145th Kentucky Derby takes place Saturday and you can watch it on Channel 3 at 6:50 p.m. You can also celebrate at the Black and Gold Derby Party, sponsored by WKYC. Reporters Jasmine Monroe and Tiffany Tarpley will emcee the event, and it's all for a good cause as the fundraiser generates scholarship money. Get tickets here.

lovelytheband

What: If you're feeling broken, head to House of Blues for lovelytheband, the indie pop band best known for the single "Broken." They'll be joined by supporting acts Flora Cash and Jagwar Twin. Get tickets here.

When: Friday 7 p.m.

May East Fourth Be With You Race & Bar Crawl

What: Gather your fellow Star Wars fans for this May 4 race and bar crawl. The 1 1/4 mile run begins at 10:30 a.m., then you'll spend the day on E. 4th Street at bars including Zocalo, Butcher and Brewer and Corner Alley. Learn more and register here.

New Kids on the Block

What: Throw it back this weekend with New Kids at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. Supporting acts include Salt n Pepa, Naughty by Nature, Tiffany and Debbie Gibson. Get tickets here.

Taco & Tequila Crawl
