A little 8-year-old boy from Cleveland had a lifelong dream realized.

Jensen O'Connor always wanted to be a motorcycle cop and on Thursday he was sworn in as an honorary officer. He even received his very own badge and an official proclamation signed by Mayor Frank Jackson.

Two years ago, Jensen O'Connor was seriously injured when he was struck by a car.

"We weren't exactly sure that he was gonna survive, he had a traumatic brain injury that was pretty bad. He fractured the whole back of his skull, he lost hearing in his right ear, he had a dissected carotid artery," said Jensen's mom, Gina.

He still suffers from the effects of his traumatic brain injury to this day, however Thursday was his day.

It's something he has wanted to do all his life. The soon-to-be-9-year-old was able to visit the property room holding more than 40,000 confiscated guns from crimes, learn Cleveland police history and meet the city's mounted unit.
