WATCH | Canton Fire Department rescues dog from burning home

The sweetest thing you'll see this week.

CANTON, Ohio — Every day men and women with fire departments across the nation risk their lives. But sometimes, these people go above and beyond to service our family, friends and loved ones.

On Tuesday, the Canton City Fire Department showed just what it means to go the extra mile. Crews with the department responded to a house fire in the 1300 block of 19th Street NW.

Upon entering, a dog named Dolly was found on the first floor of the home. In a video posted to the department's Facebook page, you can see a firefighter carrying Dolly's lifeless body out of the home.

And what happens next is remarkable.

With the help of some oxygen, Dolly was able to get up and walk around.
