On Monday, a 9-year-old boy from North Olmsted battling cancer is about to realize his dream of participating in a robotics competition.
Thanks to the efforts of the Cleveland Chapter of A Special Wish, Izzy Caminero is in for a special day: Following a Platinum Party limo bus pickup and ice cream at the Honey Hut, he and his family will head to Brecksville-Broadview Heights High School to meet the reigning champion Robotics team 2011. Izzy will be greeted by the school band, cheerleaders, and others before heading to the robotics room, where he will meet the team, learn how to make robots, and practice operations.
It all leads up to the big finale around 5:30 p.m., when Izzy will face off against Team 2011 in a live robotics competition. An awards ceremony will follow.
WKYC plans to stream portions of the event. Join us in helping Izzy celebrate his special day!
